The Curriculum acknowledges the principles of The Treaty of Waitangi and the bicultural foundations of Aotearoa New Zealand.
By learning Te Reo Maori it enables students to appreciate that Maori language and culture extends their cultural understanding. Interaction in another language introduces them to new ways of thinking about, questioning, and interpreting the world and their place in it. It also enables students to become more effective communicators in our multicultural society.
2011 Te Reo Maori programme facilitator:

The Te Reo Maori Language coordinator provides each class with a folder of resources which supports in class programmes. These are added to during the year.
